Question :
Two years ago I had major surgery to remove an ovarian abscess and, as a result, had 100 internal stitches and a huge gash along my lower stomach. I then took part in three IVF programs. As a result of everything, I have gained nearly two stone. All of it is on my stomach and breasts. I have been doing aerobics for three weeks, and now have the capacity to do a fairly strenuous 45-minute 10-inch step workout. I have also started working out for 10-minute intervals on a punching bag, followed by five to 10 minutes of skipping. I really need to get this weight off, as I shall be returning home for my sister's wedding at the end of May and want to look like life has been better to me.
Answer
So, we have five weeks to get you ready for your sister's wedding. The three-week aerobics program you have been doing will provide you with a good platform from which to build. Try this program over the next five weeks and you should notice a considerable difference to your fitness level and dress size. Day 1: Aerobics class. Finish workout with 30 sit-ups/15 push-ups/10 squats. Day 2: Easy swim. Day 3: Fast walk/jog (40 minutes). Finish workout with 40 sit-ups/20 push-ups/15 squats. Day 4: Step/boxing workout. Day 5: Rest. Day 6: Fast walk/jog (30 min). Day 7: Easy swim. Finish with 50 sit-ups/25 push-ups/20 squats. The first week will result in some initial soreness, but the easy swim sessions will provide some relaxation from the previous workouts. Stay with the program, Nessa, as it is only five weeks to the wedding. After the wedding, take one week off training and then contact me again and I can provide you with another program to get you ready for your next big occasion!
